Zero Balancing for Kids: What if We Gave them the Tools Earlier?

I’ve felt the urge to offer Zero Balancing for kids for quite some time.

As adults, so many of us are searching for tools to regulate our nervous systems to help us manage anxiety, overthinking, emotional overwhelm, and insomnia. We spend years unlearning stress patterns and trying to reconnect with our bodies.

And I often wonder…
What if we had these tools as kids?

Our adolescence is shaped by rapid growth, constant change, social pressures, academic expectations, and now, more than ever, technology and overstimulation. Children today are navigating so much.

What if they had a built-in support system?

Why Nervous System Regulation Matters

In adults, Zero Balancing has been shown to improve symptoms of anxiety, depression, fearful thoughts, and insomnia by approximately 50%.1

But these aren’t just “adult issues.”
Kids experience anxiety. Kids experience fear. Kids experience emotional overwhelm.

Regulating the autonomic nervous system (ANS) is the process of moving from stress or shutdown, often felt as anxiety, excessive worry, overthinking, or numbness, toward a state of calm and connection.2

When the ANS is regulated:

  • Physical sensations feel safer

  • Emotions become easier to process

  • Positive experiences are easier to recall

  • Resilience increases

  • A greater sense of safety and well-being is established

When the body feels safe, expansion becomes possible.

And one of my favorite things about Zero Balancing is that the benefits extend beyond the session itself. The positive effects are often sustained for 1–2 weeks, sometimes longer depending on frequency. With consecutive sessions, many clients are able to go deeper and maintain regulation for longer periods of time.

Imagine offering that kind of support during formative years.

How I Work With Kids

Consent is everything.

The consent process includes both the parent and the child. It is deeply important to me that the child feels involved and empowered in the process.

Before the session begins:

  • We establish safety and rapport.

  • I explain what we’ll be doing in age-appropriate language.

  • I let them know they are always in control.

During the session:

  • I ask for consent continuously.

  • Nothing is forced.

  • Everything is by choice.

  • Gentle breathing techniques may be offered to support self-regulation.

Zero Balancing for kids is not about “fixing” anything.
It’s about creating space, physically and energetically, so the body can process what it’s holding.

What If?

What if nervous system literacy started early?
What if kids learned that their bodies are safe places to live?

We can’t remove stress from the world.
But we can offer tools to meet it.

And that changes everything.

This work may be supportive for children who:

Who This May Support

• Feel anxious or worry often

• Have difficulty sleeping

• Are highly sensitive or emotionally attuned

• Seem easily overwhelmed or shut down

• Are navigating transitions — school changes, family shifts, loss

• Carry tension in their bodies without knowing how to release it

Every child is different. The intention is not to label or diagnose, but to offer support when a child’s system is working overtime.

At the moment, this offering is available for children ages 7 and up.

If you’re a parent who has been looking for a gentle, body-based way to support your child, I’m here. You’re welcome to reach out with questions or book a session here
